The Writers of Père Lachaise

Even if cemeteries give you the creeps, Père Lachaise in Paris is definitely worth visiting.
Père Lachaise is more than just a cemetery: it’s a park, a garden, and a popular tourist attraction. Even though you can still hear the sounds of Paris just outside the gates (and the occasional crow overhead), Père Lachaise is somewhere you can take a quiet walk. But you should know that Père Lachaise is the largest cemetery in Paris, so going in there without a map, guide, or app could turn into a much longer walk than you had originally intended. I bought a map right outside the cemetery entrance and it was money very well spent, especially since I was visiting specific graves that could easily be missed without a little help.
